Drive the circle route around the Yucatan Peninsula - one of the most amazing spots on earth. The variety of experiences could keep you busy forever.

Visit Isla Aguada, a fish camp straddling lagoon and the gulf waters or simply buy your meal at the fish markets in Campeche. Amble up Highway 180 past small ancient ruins or watch the night show from the Magician in Uxmal.

The colonial city of Merida is worth a lifetime of exploration - the churches and cathedrals, historic city-scapes, fine restaurants and world class dining. Then visit the gulf waters nearby at Celestún or Progresso. Watch flamingoes fly overhead....

Drive on to Chichén Itzá early before the busses come and explore one of the most fascinating Mayan sites. Climb to the top of the largest pyramid the "Castle", whisper secrets in the ball court and imagine the rituals at the bank of the grand cenote. Cool off after the climb at a local cenote or sacred underwater pool - swim with ancient fish - or explore isolated and beaches.

Most tourists come for the warm Caribbean waters and all that comes with the sun and sand; swimming, boating, snorkeling, diving and fishing. Cancun is the hub. International airport, 1st Class hotel strip. Revelers until all hours.

Experience various beach towns and communities down the Caribbean coast. While you are here you can visit the Mexican versions of theme parks; Xcaret, Xel-Ha and Trois Rivers. These parks offer various experiences from pyramids to experiencing cenotes - underground rivers and pools- to swimming with the dolphins.

Spend time to do the real thing. Descend to an underground pool with stalagmites and Indian carvings. Trek through jungle or meander through a colonial city or town. Explore ancient deserted cities.

Small hotels are everywhere and RV parks are available close to most of the best tourist locations. The roads are excellent and getting better annually. The experience - the road trip - is priceless.
