1. Identification

Require a passport valid for the duration of the visit

2. Vehicle Import Permit
Required to Drive in Most of Mexico

NOT Required for the Baja or North of KM 98 on Highway 15

4. Visa

Not required for Canadians who wish to visit Mexico as tourists, on business, as a journalist, for studies, or passing through Mexico, for a period not exceeding 180

A Mexican RESIDENT visa is required for those staying longer than 180 days in Mexico.

5. Mexico Migratory Form

Citizens of Canada MUST obtain a travel permit called the Multiple Migratory Form or Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM). If you arrive by air, it will be provided by your airline. You must always keep a copy with you.

6. Canadian Driver’s License

Should always be carried

Mexican Insurance is invalid if you do not have a non-Mexican, driver’s license.
