THE 3 TRADITIONS OF LA PENITA RV PARK

CHRISTMAS DINNER, FEBRUARY 14TH PIG ROAST, AND THE FAREWELL TOSTADA PARTY - those 3 functions have been happening in the park for over 25 years - I have recently discarded working papers from the 1980's. When the park was smaller, they were held at the Palapa, a beautiful setting with Jaltemba Bay and Alligator Point in the background. Once Carole and Grant took over the park - and it became famous! - the participants mushroomed, we outgrew the Palapa, and moved to the Pool area. This season, 2006/2007, the events have grown once again, and in addition to the Pool Patio area, we are also using the area on the other side of the Pool!

Next season, some changes will be taking place to these events - we must streamline and keep them simple for the commitee heads to organize and execute. The most significant change will be the restriction of the parties to PARK RESIDENTS ONLY, and in special cases, their visiting families. TICKETS will be purchased from the office and two or three commitee members. There will also be a change in the way some food items on the menu are administrated. You may not be asked to buy a ticket and bring a food item, only to buy a ticket and COOK a supplied food item.
It will make it a more equitable situation for both the organizers and the attendees. You will learn more at the advent of each of these parties next year.

LA PENITA RV PARK COOK BOOK

Yes, there is one, a copy can be found on the La Penita RV Park Website. www.lapenitarvpark.com Terry Owens has volunteered to redo the old cookbook and add recipes. THE SWIMMING POOL
We have been trying to maintain the pool temperature at 85F or 29C. This involves a combination of using the new solar heating system during the daylight hours and covering the pool at night to reduce heat loss. If anyone wishes to swim in the evening, the pool cover should be removed with care. It is fragile and can easily be damaged. Removing the cover requires at least two people. After swimming please replace the cover. Failing to do this reduces the temperature in the morning by three or four degrees Fahrenheit. Thank you very much!!

Massage - Gil comes Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 9am. Erandria comes Monday and Wednesdays at 9am.
Both have very different styles of massage. $250 pesos for and hour or more.
Fridays we have a chiropractor, Victor, who comes at 9am. Sign-up sheets are at the office.

STRETCH AND STRENGTH is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8am at the Palapa. LAST ONE FRIDAY MARCH 16TH.


WATER EXERCISE is Tuesdays and Thursdays 1pm at the Pool

LINE DANCING - Tuesdays 11:30am at the Palapa! Everyone Welcome!

TACO TUESDAY - 5pm at the Palapa - free marguerittas! March 6 & 13 - Last two!!

VEGGIE TRUCK is in the park on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

BREAD TRUCK is in the park on Mondays and Fridays.

THE CAFE BY THE POOL - is open every morning except Thursdays.

HAMBURGER SUNDAY - 5pm at the POOL. Marguerittas - 10 pesos, Hamburgers 30 pesos. Want to volunteer?? Sign-up sheet is on the notice board. THREE MORE TO GO - MARCH 4, 11, & 18TH!!
