Market Day in La Penita (for a quick look at last year's market click here)

It is Market Day and whether or not you want to buy those great crisp veggies, a piece of folk art or jewelry, Tianguis is the place to go today. To see and be seen. Take in the local culture and watch the tourists and locals trundle down the cobblestone streets.

Buy some shrimp or fresh fish. A DVD or two. One may even work.

We like to take in the market slowly; stopping in at Daniel's Italian Eatery "Soley" for a cappuccino and chatting with the locals before we make our food purchased and head back home.

There are many good farmacias in La Penita, but one of our favorites is Farmacia Soto down at the end of the Avenida on the left hand side. Not only does Marco Soto speak a little English but if he doesn't have the product you are looking for he will order it in for you, usually within two days.
