Horseback Riding Tours of the Area
Want to explore the back hills by horseback? Then these are the tours for you. Th e
tours are scheduled on Fridays beginning on November 24 or can be
arranged privately for a group.
Everyone meets at the crucero of the 200 and Ursulo
Galvan. we then take a drive through the farming country to the
Rancho Guadalupe for a wonderful breakfast of Mexican tacos. Make
your own fresh tortillas if you want. We then meet our horse
friends for the day and begin the trip.
We have designed both easy and semi difficult trips depending on people's desires. The easier trips are a combination of farmlands, riverbeds and roads, lots of scenery and plant and animal life. These trips are from 2 to 3 hours long. The more difficult trip consists of roads, farmlands, and trails which lead up and over a ridge and down to the river and waterfalls and pools. Somewhat arduous in places but if a person is somewhat familiar with horses, it shouldn't be a problem. It is lengthy however lasting about 2 and a half hours one way to the cascadas and 2 hours for return. Upon return we are greeted by a traditional Mexican lunch. Beer and frescas are available for purchase. The cost of the trips are 300 pesos for the shorter trips and 400 pesos for the long trip. People should wear long pants and socks. Bring sunblock and bug dope, any kind of snacks for the trail, water, camera and binocs. Organize your own group at least 2 days in advance - Minimum of 4 people and a Maximum of 8. For questions and reservations contact garydorisstackhouse@hotmail.com
The La Penita RV Resort and Spa's Raffle for one of Hala's amazing Hammocks was won by James and Karen Franklin. Thank you Carole for the venue and of course Hala for the hammocks.

Don Pedro
Don Pedro's Grocery Store is one of several
excellent small grocery stores in La Piñata. but its specialty
is liquor. Often has a 10 per cent discount off the marked
price. Don Pedro himself is often seen behind the counter where
if you have any questions he will be happy to answer you.
Located on the Avenida on your right three blocks down from
highway 200. Also one of the few grocery stores that regularly
stocks leche light.

Ms Maneras
Dear Ms Maneras,
What's with all
these newcomers coming here and messing with my paradise. Every day
the streets become more and more crowded with gringo's. I liked it
better when it was a sleepy little village. Now it has become a "hot
community" and housing and land prices have soared.
They want to change
everything. The restaurants and shops have gone upscale. The next
thing you know, there will be a sushi restaurant or a
Starbucks. Wal-Mart is probably next. We now have a "Community
Newspaper".
Why can't they leave
this little hamlet alone.
Sol Man
Dear Sol Man,
Paradise is hard to
keep quiet. This is a wonderful little corner of the planet and one
that is hard not to talk about. Change is inevitable and is good for
the local economy.
Ms Maneras has been
a regular visitor for 15 years to this spot and has lived here Mas o
Menos for just over 3. The local people are doing much better and
their standard of living has improved greatly. There are jobs and
opportunities that the locals only dreamed about.
While with the good,
there is also the bad. Yes the prices have increased - BUT GET A
GRIP! They have everywhere else too. Housing? Look at the Seattle,
Vancouver or Las Vegas housing market.
Instead of a grumble
in the jungle, get with the program. Enjoy the moments you can savor
here in Jaltemba Bay. It will never be like it was but then again it
will never be like back home either.
Ms Maneras thinks
that a sushi restaurant would be a lovely addition to the choices we
now have on the bay but agrees that the area doesn't need any big
chain restaurants.
Ms Maneras
Ms
M
Dear Ms Maneras,
Can you help me
please as I am at my wit's end. My wife of 24 years has decided that
she is going to protect the turtles. She goes out every night with a
group of young people and scours the beaches looking for poachers
that capture these creatures. She leaves the house at 10 and doesn't
get home until after 2am. She claims the mini-skirt is to help her
wade in the warm waters and the stiletto's are to help get traction
on the sand. I just can't stand it anymore.
Ron
Dear Ron,
Ms Maneras thinks
you should come out of your shell so to speak. Go save the turtles
with her. Put on your favorite Speedo, sport your favorite tank top
and flip flops and join in the fun. You are sure to scare off any
predators along the way.
Ms Maneras
Ms M
Dear Ms Maneras,
I am sick and tired
of the lady next door coming over and putting the hit on me. She is
married but she comes over to my house nearly every evening all
dressed up and ready to party. I indulge her a bit and let her in
because I want to be polite. BUT MY PATIENCE is running thin. What
can I do?
Pete from Penasco
Dear Pete,
Ms Maneras thinks
you should beware of an older gentleman sporting a Speedo and tank
top before you let her inside your home again.
Ms Maneras

Happiness
A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make
you the happiest woman in the world."
The woman replies, "I'll miss you..."
Too Hot
"It's just too hot to wear clothes today," Jack says as he
stepped out of the shower, "Honey, what do you think the
neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?"
"Probably that I married you for your money," she replied.

Wanted Good Home for Puppy
This photo is of the cutest, calmest,
most affectionate little dog I have ever met. She
is 2 1/2 months old, has been spayed (yesterday),
and is looking for a new home. Will remain a very
small dog, some type of Chihuahua cross. Not
yappy. Her name is Milagrosita and she lives in La Colonia with a nice family that has too many dogs. Contact hearob@island.net as the owner (Cecelia) does not speak English or have e-mail.
