Jaltemba News & Notes
La Peņita Homeowners Association Organized Any homeowner in La Peņita that is interested in forming a Home Owners Association please contact Mark by email, anesthesia94@yahoo.ca or phone 274-2539. The purpose of the association will be to discuss problems in La Peņita such as: break ins and robberies, police not doing anything about the B&E, better water service, etc.. I feel, as a group, we will have more influence on the departments involved than acting as an individual. Lets have a meeting, express our concerns and agree on a course of action to make La Peņita a better and safer place to live. Please spread the word, canvass your neighborhood, see how many people are interested and if there is sufficient interest a meeting will be scheduled for all to attend.

Letters to the Editor
Hi. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter as I found it very enjoyable. We have been to the area twice now, and are headed down this year for a month.
Thank you. E. Spak
Hi,
We've been reading your newspaper for the past week as it had been forwarded to us by our good friends Geoff & Judy Eggleton, who also live in the Villas del Tropico development in Los Ayala. We would like to have it come daily to us with our email just in case we forget to pull it up from our favorites.
We've been here a week now and are almost finished cleaning up the dust and cobwebs and look forward to knowing what's happening in the Jaltemba Bay area.
Thank you for the great job you're doing in getting out the paper every morning. I just discovered that there is even a paper on Sunday.
Carl & Betty Eskow
Hi Guys!
It IS nice to cruise your newsletter while waking up with a steaming hot cup of roasted Nayarit coffee beans. Mmmmm. Yes, I'd be happy to share info on Sayulita, however, I'm certainly not the most in-the-know person living here to report on these matters. Looking forward to the next destination of the Magical Mystery Tour folks, sounds like fun. Thanks for your hard work! Best, Marilyn Moss in Sayulita

Coffee to Wake up in Paradise
Pedro Jimenez Villasenor and his wife operate the Cafe de Occidente on Highway 200 Just north of the Avenida Light. They sell fresh Nayarit Coffee, dark and light beans, and grinds it to your specifications - including espresso. The coffee is certified Organic and costs only 60 pesos a Kilogram. We wouldn't drink anything else in the morning.
This is a wonderful gift to bring home from a trip - inexpensive and always a welcome gift.

Seņor Hard Drive will be a regular weekly columnist for the Jaltemba Express. He will be explaining simple computer techniques for those who are computer challenged in Paradise.
How to Save a Picture from the Web
So you have found your picture on the front cover of the Jaltemba Express and you want to save it in your computer. Saving it is easy. Finding it later is what is tricky.
You MUST tell the computer where you want to store the picture so you can find it, Before you attempt to save your pictures, I strongly suggest you know where you are going to store them. For today's lesson, we will use the pre-created file in most computers called My Pictures. You can usually find this file when you open My Documents in Windows. Make sure you have this file and you can open it before you get started.
1. Go to the web page with the picture you wish to save.
2. Put your curser (the arrow on the screen your mouse moves) on the picture you want to save.
3. On your mouse, click the right hand button. This is called right click.....strangely enough...
4. A screen will pop up with a number of options. You must take your arrow and go down to SAVE PICTURE AS ...
5. A Screen will pop up. Look at it for a moment. The screen itself is called SAVE PICTURE.
a) Your first option is where to save the picture. The line that is very important says SAVE IN. Probably it reads MY PICTURES which is the standard default file. You can change that by selecting the arrow beside the file name. For our purposes, MY Pictures is where we want to store the picture.
b, Your second option is File Name. This is what you are going to call the picture. Many pictures from the web are numbered or have an abbreviated name known only to the photographer. You, however, will never be able to find the picture of your big fish if you have saved it as "beach%20scene". It is Best to name it something like December Dorado or something that you will remember when you see the name. So take your curser arrow and put it into the file name box. Erase the existing name by using your delete button and type decemberdorado or whatever you wish to name your picture. Just use letters and numbers.
c. Your third option is Save as type. For our purposes we want to save as a JPEG (jpg) file. It is a very standard format that is universal and easy to read and send.
d. Now that you have instructed your computer where you want to save, what you are calling the picture, and what format the picture will be saved as, you will want to hit the SAVE Button.
That's it. A Saved picture!

Riding Tours of the Area

the farming country

of Mexican tacos.
Make your own fresh

our horse friends
for the day and
begin the trip.
We have designed both easy and semi difficult trips depending on people's desires. The easier trips are a combination of farmlands, riverbeds and roads, lots of scenery and plant and animal life. These trips are from 2 to 3 hours long. The more difficult trip consists of roads, farmlands, and trails which lead up and over a ridge and down to the river and waterfalls and pools. Somewhat arduous in places but if a person is somewhat familiar with horses, it shouldn't be a problem. It is lengthy however lasting about 2 and a half hours one way to the cascadas and 2 hours for return. Upon return we are greeted by a traditional Mexican lunch. Beer and frescas are available for purchase. The cost of the trips are 300 pesos for the shorter trips and 400 pesos for the long trip. People should wear long pants and socks. Bring sun block and bug dope, any kind of snacks for the trail, water, camera and binocs. Organize your own group at least 2 days in advance - Minimum of 4 people and a Maximum of 8.
