Hi Dot
Please add us to the e-subscription list for Jaltemba Express.  We are new this year to the area and our friends at Casa de los Pelicanos referred us. Thanks

We have a small casita in the rear of our property that we would like to rent out by the week......How do we put an ad into your paper?
Bill and Jan
(Editors Note: You write an ad like it was a newspaper - 4-5 lines. Take a picture. Let me know where it is so we can draw a map....And submit. It's free - although if we meet - you buy the beer. Ha-ha. D)

Hi Dorothy and Bill and everyone else lucky to be in paradise,
December 1 and we are counting down to departure date now. Thanks so much for keeping us updated on the happenings in and around La Penita. Hello to Fran, who looks as beautiful as ever in her picture with Danny and Nancy.
It is good to see familiar faces of friends who have arrived safely for one more year. We can't wait (It is DARN!! Cold here.)
Merry Christmas to all.

Hello Dot,
We have realized that we are neglecting to let as many people as possible know that the fundraiser will be a POT LUCK so anyone interested in coming to the gathering is asked to please bring a little plate of something: Finger food, ceviches, cheeses, crackers, fruit tray, or whatever they think they would like to bring..... it only needs to be one dish.
I hope you are planning to be there too Dot!
And thank you again for helping us get the word out, we are very grateful.
Gretchen

Ms Maneras

Dear Ms. Maneras,

I have noticed that you don't keep to your schedule. You are supposed to have a column every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. What gives.

Stan

Dearest Stan,

Take a flying leap.

Ms Maneras

Ms M

Dear Ms Maneras,

I went to my condo's pool last evening and low and behold there were a bunch of women skinny swimming. I didn't know what to do so I kept walking. My eyes only diverted for a moment or two.

It's not that I mind....it's just that they started yelling obscenities at me and giving me cat calls. Whatz a guy to do in a situation like that.

Pete

Dear Pete,

Ms Maneras thinks you blew it. FOR PETE'S Sake.......When a bunch of women are giving you cat calls naked in a pool at midnight....well dear Pete. Lets not kid ourselves. Your eyes diverted for more than a moment or two. You were standing there for at least 3 minutes. Why you didn't even say as much as hello. Obscenities? No my dear. The women in question were merely chatting.....

Next time? Well if there is a next time.....Double dare ya.

Ms Maneras

Ms M

Dear Ms Maneras,

Can you please re-play the Tequila Commercial for me. I think the warnings are to the point and want to send it to some of my closest friends.

Patty from Iowa

Dearest Patty,

Ms Maneras says no problema. Click here and wait for it to load.  Tequila Commercial  Warning: This is NOT for the timid. Use caution and be prepared to LAUGH OUT LOUD.

PREGNANT TURKEY STORY Submitted by Lorraine Timmen

Last year at Christmas time, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional holiday feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick; She told my sister that she needed something from the store and asked if my sister wouldn't mind going out to get it.

When my sister left the house, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the mixed stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey... then re-stuffed the turkey; She then placed the bird(s) back into the oven.

When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird.

With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Barbara, you've cooked a pregnant bird!"

At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry hysterically. It took the entire family almost two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!

Yes, my sister is a BLONDE

Horseback Riding Tours of the Area
Want to explore the back hills by horseback? Then these are the tours for you. The tours are scheduled on Fridays beginning on November 24 or can be arranged privately for a group.
Everyone meets at (please note this change!) the Pemex in Lo de Marcos.  we then take a drive through the farming country to the Rancho Guadalupe for a wonderful breakfast of Mexican tacos. Make your own fresh tortillas if you want.  We then meet our horse friends for the day and begin the trip.
We have designed both easy and semi difficult trips depending on people's desires.  The easier trips are a combination of farmlands, riverbeds and roads, lots of scenery and plant and animal life. These trips are from 2 to 3 hours long. The more difficult trip consists of roads, farmlands, and trails which lead up and over a ridge and down to the river and waterfalls and pools.  Somewhat arduous in places but if a person is somewhat familiar with horses, it shouldn't be a problem.  It is lengthy however lasting about 2 and a half hours one way to the cascadas and 2 hours for return.
Upon return we are greeted by a traditional Mexican lunch.  Beer and frescas are available for purchase.
The cost of the trips are 300 pesos for the shorter trips and 400 pesos for the long trip. People should wear long pants and socks.  Bring sun block and bug dope,  any kind of snacks for the trail, water, camera and binocs.
Organize your own group at least 2 days in advance - Minimum of 4 people and a Maximum of 8. For questions and reservations contact garydorisstackhouse@hotmail.com
