Campo MexicoMotel Camping Near City CenterAve 20 Noviembre S/N Extremo Oricate Durango, Durango Phone: (011-52-) 618-818-7744 Rates: $15 Total Hookups: 8 water and electric only 50 no hookup Electric - beware. Various readings. Water. No sewer. Motel key and room provided for showers and washroom. Small pool Meeting rooms Lobby TV room (with film star picture gallery) Warning there is now no turn around in the hotel as they sold of the RV portion to a shopping mall. They still will let you park there for $15 and give you a room to shower and wash. However if your rig is larger than 28 feet, you will find it very difficult to turn around.
Older motel near the heart of the city. The entrance overhang roof is ok for most rigs - approximately 4.5 meters ( 12 - 13 feet). The restaurant is currently being renovated. The place needs some TLC throughout. Campo does provide the basics however. It is close - almost walking
distance - to a fascinating colonial city centre. It is secure and central.
It is adequate as a stopover spot and has room for large caravans- if
hookups are not an issue - in the open field.
As the camping is next to the highway, it can get a little noisy. There are always trade-offs for a central location.
Directions: From the junction of Highway 45 and 40 at the statue of Poncho Villa, proceed south on the 40 (Boulevard Colegio Militar) for 2 blocks and make a right hand turn (West) on Av 20 November - a major and well signed street. The Motel is on your right ( North) side and the entrance is well marked. Check in and drive past the hotel rooms to the open field. Hookups are adjacent to the back fence.
