3rd Annual Riviera Nayarit International Marlin & Tuna Fishing Tournament

Boasting an abundance of marlin and tuna, as well as top game fish such as sailfish, mahi mahi, grouper, red snapper and wahoo, Riviera Nayarit is fast becoming known as one of the best fishing destinations in the Americas.

With 160 kilometers of coastline stretching from Nuevo Vallarta to San Blas, the Riviera Nayarit is the perfect place for fishermen from around the world to test their fishing skills while competing in the Third Annual Riviera Nayarit Marlin and Tuna International Fishing Tournament.

Scheduled to be held at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle from August 13-15, 2009, this year's tournament promises some hot and heavy competition as anglers from around the world vie for the $100,000 peso purse that will be awarded to the fisherman that can beat the Mexican Pacific Coast Marlin record of 710.55 pounds, set by Alejandro Herrera during the inaugural Riviera Nayarit Marlin and Tuna International Fishing Tournament in 2007.

This year's tournament also offers a first place purse of $100,000 pesos for the first tuna caught that exceeds the tournament record of 167.55 lbs. The 2009 Eastern Pacific hurricane and tropical storm season officially started on May 15, and will end on November 30th. The US consular in Puerto Vallarta has released the following list of emergency items that every citizen living in or traveling to storm-prone regions should have on hand during hurricane season.

Water - at least 1 gallon daily per person for 3 to 7 days

Food - at least enough for 3 to 7 days
• non-perishable packaged or canned food / juices
• special foods for infants or the elderly
• snack foods
• non-electric can opener
• cooking tools / fuel
• paper plates / plastic utensils

Blankets / Pillows, etc.

Clothing - seasonal / rain gear/ sturdy shoes

First Aid Kit / Medicines / Prescription Drugs

Special Items - for babies and the elderly

Toiletries / Hygiene items / Moisture wipes

Flashlight / Batteries

Radio - Battery operated and NOAA weather radio

Telephones - Fully charged cell phone with extra battery and a traditional (not cordless) telephone set

Cash (with some small bills) and Credit Cards - Banks and ATMs may not be available for extended periods

Keys

Toys, Books and Games

Important documents - in a waterproof container or watertight resealable plastic bag
• insurance, medical records, bank account numbers, Social Security card, etc.

Tools - keep a set with you during the storm

Vehicle fuel tanks filled

Pet care items
• proper identification / immunization records / medications
• ample supply of food and water
• a carrier or cage
• muzzle and leash

Carlos Lemmus and Hector Gonzalez offered a brief overview of Real Nuevo Vallarta and a tour of the development.
On time, On Point and On the Move... that must have been the theme of this past week's A.M.P.I. meeting held at the new development, Real Nuevo Vallarta, represented by Prudential Paradise Village office.

The Association meetings are held monthly and provide area realtors the opportunity to network and be informed of changes and issues relevant to their real estate markets.

This month's agenda, presented by President Tere Kimball of Prudential Vallarta, provided information for upcoming courses and real estate seminars, as well as the A.M.P.I. National Conference to be held in Morelia from October 11-14, 2009.

Following a brief discussion period, Mr. Hector Gonzalez and his agents offered a brief over-view of Real Nuevo Vallarta and a tour of the development.
