The Kenny and Jomie Benefit
Concert was a huge success. We are not sure how many people attended but
we think approximately 800 or so, braved the weather and came out and
enjoyed good music from noon until 10pm.
We cannot say enough about the
volunteers, donors and sponsors. Below is a list of our donors and
sponsors and in the next day or so, we will publish a list of our
volunteers. If I forget anyone, please let me know!

Until then, here is a list of some
of our sponsors:

MONEY
And While we're on the subject of money......
Money is still coming in (silent auction) and money is going out
(leftover food and beverages) the very rough total for the evening is
approximately $140,000 pesos.
And a big congratulations to Cindy Huddleston who sold 86 tickets,
donated lots of auction items, and sang and played her heart out (in the
band Most Wanted.)
Howell Pledge
David Howell flew in from California to represent his family at the
event. They have pledged $10,000 pesos to Jomie from the upcoming
Horseshoe Tournament in the memory of their father who knew them both
well.
Individual donor recognition
There are individuals that have give a substantial amount of money and
some that wish to remain anonymous.
Volunteers: We are having a get together at
Hinde and Jaimes on Tuesday January 27th. It is the last meeting......Ha
Ha
LettersLet me
begin by congratulating you and your committee on the excellent job
that you did at the Kenny and Jomie Benefit Concert last night. I
was
amazed at how well organized everything was and at the level of
comraderie
that existed. Having been involved in organizing a number of these
types of
events, I know how much hard work it takes to make everything look
easy.
David Easby
Wow what a day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great job the organizing
committee did in such a short time .
The music was outstanding and we enjoyed
the day immensly
We are so happy to have been a part of a
wonderful community coming together to support Jomie
Thanks for a great time
Dianna and Larry Belitski
I cannot believe what a blast the event
was! Great music and wonderful community energy. Best event all
year!

The Beach Clean-Up Committee tabled its proponed plan. It includes a clean

work.
Los
Amigos agreed to establish the Los Amigos Scholarship Fund to finance
six CONALEP/Preparatoria students for a full year’s tuition and supplies

along the Avenida and are now being placed in other strategic locations
in the community. The Committee is also trying to identify sites in the
community which can serve as drop off sites for the general public.
A
Recognition Event is being scheduled for January 19 to thank the
Directors of the schools in La Peñita and La Colonia for their
help in making the first phase of the program a success.
The next

Volunteers Prepare Items for Sunday Concert Benefit

Val Schrowe and Renee Sommerville labeling auction items
The love and respect that the Riviera Nayarit community
has for Kenny and Jomie Thompson is evident as their friends and
neighbors work tirelessly to make the January 18 event a memorable
occasion. There is so much laughter and camaraderie as scores of
volunteers busily prepare for the Sunday fundraiser. Every detail, from
food, beverages, music, to organizing prizes is laced with fond
remembrances of good times with Kenny and Jomie, local residents that
recently experienced a terrible tragedy.
Over a hundred fabulous prizes, donated by local
businesses and caring friends, will be available for silent auction and
as raffle items. 100% of the proceeds from the event go towards Jomie’s
surgical expenses and continuing medical car e.
Perhaps even more important is that the community will be
together for a good time-music, dancing, enjoying friends. Experiencing
happiness is the best tribute to this remarkable couple that has touched
so many lives.
Come celebrate with us: everyone is welcome! Gates open
at 11 am.
