Advertising Price Guide
The Jaltemba Sol, began as a writing project and opportunity to contribute to the community. Starting with a list of 100 names, we have grown to just under 8,000 subscribers in the community and are read throughout the world. We have reports that tell us over 40,000 distinct visitors read the Sol every issue.
Things change. We have found that the demand for advertising opportunities, especially real estate, far exceeds our desire to provide a free service. Creating ads, taking pictures, correcting copy, placing and formatting on the internet, requires time, energy and commitment.
We estimate that we sold over a million dollars worth of property via the Sol last year and the Real Estate Ads are a resounding success. Restaurants, bars and other service suppliers have also commented that advertising in the Sol has increased their customer base and sales significantly.
The Jaltemba Sol serves the mid-Riviera Nayarit Region, from Sayulita to Chacala, and is published twice weekly from November to March and once a week for the remainder of the year. We will soon provide hard copies of the Sol to a select few restaurants weekly. We will also have a presence at the weekly La Peñita Market.
Our Goal this year is to increase the circulation to 10,000 subscribers, provide information in the Sections Today (Accommodations, Dining Out, Community Calendar, Good Causes, Major Events, Real Estate, and Classifieds) in Spanish.

Ads Types
Button Ads (see the left hand column of the Jaltemba Sol)
Button Ads are tiny ads that are placed under the main directional tabs for our newspaper. While small in size, they remind readers of your product or service and reflect your logo and artwork. They can be linked to a map of your location in La Peñita or Guayabitos or, if you have an internal website developed with us, we will link to your web. (See information about a web option below.)
Button ads can be purchased for $250 Mexican Pesos per month or $1000 Mexican Pesos per year. Contra may apply.
Button ads will be placed on the front page of the Jaltemba Sol and in 1 other category that applies to your service.
Normally we supply the artwork. If the client wishes to supply the ad predesigned, the artwork should be sent in a jpeg format. The ad will be reduced to a maximum of 200 by 200 pixels.
Top of Web Banner Ad
Top Page Banner Ad can be purchased for 3000 pesos per month or 12000 pesos per year. The top Banner ad is the most prominent ad on the page as it is on the top of the Jaltemba Sol. The banner will run on every issue.
Banner Ads cost $500 Mexican Pesos per month or $2000 Mexican Pesos per year. The Ad will run every issue on the front page and for an addition $500 pesos per year, will run in one other category (Dining Out, community Calendar etc.)
Generally we supply the artwork. If the client wishes to supply the ad predesigned, the artwork should be sent ideally in a jpeg format. The ad will be reduced to a format that reflects the orientation of the design and reduced to a 830 pixel by 200 pixel banner
You are allowed 2 changes annually. Additional changes will cost $100 pesos per change. We do not have a daily rate.
Banner Ads with Slide Presentation
Banner Ads with a slide presentation cost $750 Mexican Pesos per month or $3000 Mexican Pesos per year. The Ad will run every issue on the front page and for an addition $500 pesos per year, will run in one other category (Dining Out, community Calendar etc.)

Button Ads and Small Website
Button Ads with a Small website attached will be sold for $5000 Mexican Pesos per year. This will include a simple home page and 4 additional pages that will be linked internally to pages in our site.
Additional Pages will cost 200 pesos per page. Changes and additions can be made bi-monthly. Reasonable changes apply.
Domain Names can be purchased through us at $25 per year. This allows the client to have a personalized www address and email. We do not link to outside websites.
Services and Classified Ads
Classified ads and services are free categories for ads up to 30 words in length. You must submit the ad in Word, unformatted and have a Spanish translation attached. If you wish us to translate it will cost 100 pesos. A picture or artwork will cost 100 pesos. The picture will be no more than 400 pixels wide. The ad will run until it sells or for one year.
Restaurants and Bars
While we try to visit as many locations as possible for photo opportunities for the Jaltemba Sol, we naturally cover our client’s venues first. If you are a client, please discuss with us the photo opportunities available to you.
Restaurants and Bars can purchase button ads, banner ads or opt to purchase a web or web space.
The Dining Guide is free and your information and up to 2 pictures can be submitted to the Jaltemba Sol for inclusion. Please note that we reserve the right to edit, alter and otherwise publish the information.
Entertainment Listings
Entertainment listings (Community Calendar) will be consistent and free of charge for clients.
If you are not a charity and not a client, a one line entry for entertainment (Time, Name of Band and Name of Place) will be free.

If you are a client you will be allowed an addition line.
i.e. 2:30 PM Shoe and Faby at Mateja's
Rib Special only 70 pesos, fantastic drink specials
Special Events
If you are having a special event and wish to promote it both before and after the event, two free passes for the dinner must accompany the request. We reserve the right to give these tickets to volunteer photographers or writers.
Non-profit and Charities Events and Organizations
We help our community on a regular basis and often volunteer our time. (Email editor@jaltembasol.com for more information) If we are invited to a charity event to ensure coverage, free admission to the event must apply.
We can help charities advertise events, or have an ongoing presence in the community. Besides exposure on our front page, we have sections such as Good Causes, Major Events, Community Calendar which can help you publicize your organization.
We do not however, link to external websites.
Real Estate Ads and Real Estate Firms
Real Estate Ads are $3000 Mexican Pesos per year per individual house listing per year. This listing will NOT include a link to your own home page or a www location. The money will be paid before the ads are placed and will NOT be pro-rated for quick sales. Our goal is to sell your property fast.
Additional Real Estate services can be arranged.
Conversely we will run the ad free but charge a 1% commission when the property sells. Real Estate firms or developers should contact Dorothy Bell for more details. editor@jaltembasol.com or phone 327-272-3356
The ads will include at least 3 pictures if we supply or 5 pictures if you supply. You can make up to 2 changes free of charge during the 12 months. Additional changes will cost $100 pesos per change.
Any other ad for real estate, be it for a seminar, expo or other event or meeting may be arranged if the real estate firm is an ongoing client.
Jaltemba Sol Graphics Shop
Jaltemba Sol can produce custom ordered business cards, flyers, menus, table talkers and more. Lamination and binding services are available.
