Jaltemba Sol
Fashion Show 2008

The fashion show was a resounding success this year and
raised $45,877 pesos for good projects that help women and children.
The San Carlos Hotel had over 300 women waiting in line
Tuesday for the annual extravaganza at 11:00 am; All wearing hats - this year's
theme. The lucky attendees (tickets were SOLD OUT days in advance) were greeted
and wandered through the displays of craftspeople in the area.
J'Aqui
and Bob Gibbs
After lunch the show began. J'aqui - a leading performer in
the Jaltemba area - and popular Bob Gibbs from Casitas de la Peņita were the
master of ceremonies. Local folks from our communities modeled clothing and
accessories created by local designers. Each model wore a different outfit as
they paraded beside the pool and over the bridge.

A Huge bouquet of pink star balloons were sent to heaven in
Memory of Fran Milski a popular local and avid Fashion Show participant who died
late last year of cancer. Organizers thought of it as skydiving in Reverse.

Robert Curiel serenades the audience
Robert Curiel and his father serenaded the audience with
playful and soulful Mexican tunes and were a huge hit with the audience. They
were sponsored by Hinde and Jaimes Restaurant where Roberto sings every Friday
Night.
The Annual Fashion show is a huge undertaking. Organizers,
volunteers and sponsors should be commended for the fantastic turnout this year
- the largest ever.
