Mexico Update

Roads, RV Parks and General Conditions

Roads

Road conditions are generally improving throughout Mexico. A new road yet unmarked on the map is from the east of Cuernavaca  to Atlixco and Puebla. Great time saver. Roads are becoming freeways in the Quintana Roo. Lots of roadwork.

Chetumal to Mahahual is one big freeway. (Campgrounds here are little more than an open lot on or near the beach. Usually unsigned. No services)

New RV Spots

Pie de la Cuesta - One new park - Los Delfines

Catemaco - Two new places Hotel Tepetapan and The Jungle

Celestún- One hotel and one coming soon - Hotel Gutiérrez

Veracruz - Two new Campgrounds to the South of the City -

Zihuatanenjo - Two new RV places

Tenacattita - A new spot just North of Melaque

Closed

Melaque - 10 blocks out of Melaque

Hermanos Grahams in Agua Dulce appears to have struck oil.......

Hotel Camping in Puebla is now fini

The Diamante in Cuernavaca has closed and located elsewhere

Name Changes

Name changes include Sunrise on the Caribbean to Yax Há and

Acapulco KOA to Playa Luces

Colinas Hotel to Lomas Dorado RV Park

Interesting

Los Pinos in Nayarit seems to have a split personality. We have been told it is closed yet we have driven by twice in the last few months and it is full of RV's!
