Editorial Lucky to be alive A Rocky Start We are fortunate. Dorothy was hit by a Suburban as it tried to pass her on a motor scooter on Highway 1 between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. She can remember the honk, the thud of the collision and the fear of the impending fall. It was serious. She couldn’t remember where she was. She lost a month in time and couldn’t remember neighbors or campsite personnel. Her shirt and shorts were shredded in the skid and her back and arm were badly skinned. Road rash. She is recuperating now and thankful to be alive. We look at the dented helmet and know that it would have been a different story if she wasn’t wearing it. We have been holding each other's hands a lot. In this very close accident we are taking the liberty to thank our friends and neighbors at Brisa del Mar RV Park for taking care of us. Helping with the laundry. Fetching food or just asking about Dorothy’s progress. Of course we want to thank Dr. Alphonso Jurado, the doctor that found her at the side of the highway and who nursed her back to health. It’s hard to find a great doctor that does “trailer calls” these days and we were lucky to have one find us. Enjoy this issue of the Mexican Journal. Live today with gusto.
