St. Sebastian was born in 266 in Narbourne Gual and moved to Milan with his parents. He joined the military as a young man and became a Roman officer and imperial bodyguard all the while secretly aiding other Christians. In 286 his faith was discovered and Mauretanian archers were ordered to kill him.

He survived and St. Irene nursed him to health. Eventually he was clubbed to death by the Romans.

San Sebastian is the protector of the plague, atheletes and Christian Martys.
