EDITORIAL A Great Time to Prepare for Mexico

We have replied to a number of people requesting information about Mexico for their travel this fall. These are the smart travelers; the ones that are well prepared for the roads and parks in the south.

Mow is the best time to start your plans. Look around for clothing bargains as the season turns. Pick up that extra top and shorts. Definitely buy shoes as they can be difficult to get in larger sizes for women. In Mexico difficulties start after size 7. Get to the sales.

In addition to clothing and shoes, you should be thinking about water toys and new camping supplies you want to bring with you. The best time for selection is in the summer. Keep your thoughts on lying in the sands of a Mexican Paradise and your eye on the sale fliers.

It’s also a good time to start looking for insurance. We think shopping on the internet is the way to go. We like our current carrier MexPro, who use solid underwriters and are well respected by travelers in the know. Find out about your current health insurance and plan accordingly.

Take the time to saunter through our web and take a cyber trip down your route. Take mental notes of great places to stay. Try a new spot such as Penita de Jaltemba and the full service campsite we have featured in this magazine.

We have been inundated with questions lately and in response we have started a Q & A section on our web so we can share the answers with a broad audience. We are also opening up the section called The Last Trip for others to post stories, notes and journals. BYOC is an opportunity for first-timers to link up with others for their first trip. Please re-visit our site and see some of the new features. Drop us a line and let us know what you would like to see next.
